 Subject: Dakota Sport Question

This is an odd quesion, but I ordered a new Dakota Sport plus and wondered what color the "sport" and the "4x4" decals would be? My current Dakota Sport has red decals. Is there any criteria on which colors they use or can you possibly specify the color? I'm somewhat partial to the red decals.

My '03 sport plus quadcab (white) came with black 4x4 stickers on each side of the bed and DODGE DAKOTA in black letters on the tailgate. It took about 15 minutes with a hair dryer to peel all of them off. I'm having a power sliding sunroof installed right now and will report back on how it turned out. I'm looking at narrow toolboxes from dee zee and uwsta for the bed. Has anyone tried one of these?

Generally, the dark colors get silver (argent) decals. Some black trucks get red. Red and white trucks get black. You can always remove the original decals with a hair dryer or heat gun held at a 45 degree angle, and order new ones from your Dodge dealer.

Ya, I was about to say that it depends on what color u get. I ordered Graphite gray, and it has the black stickers on it.... also had a question tho... at my dealership locally, all the dakota's have a twin pin strip down the side, altho the dakota I have now (1998) doesn't, I was just wondering if they made it standard or if my specific dealership puts them on when they come off the trucks... Thanks for any help.

Yep, the tape stripes are dealer installed. Hair dryer works on those, too.

My 03 sport plus didn't come with "sport" decals on it, just the DODGE DAKOTA on the tailgate. I also like that there is not an engine badge on the front fender anymore. No sense warning everyone I've got a V8.

I am waiting for my graphite sport plus and hoping for the silver stickers. the automatic i drove at the dealer had the silver stickers... Does year make a difference as well?
