Jonas,

thanx for the comment and the info
I also have (but not on) the GTS hood. I got it for the weight savings but there really isnt any with it. I had the reflexxion cowl hood and it does have that chebby appearance off the truck but they look really good on the truck because unlike chebbies (with the sqaure cowl), these follow the lines of your hood and fenders.

Duner,
"I want my truck to be understated"

how do you hide the turbo spooling?? lol

Damn... the Scrantons haul ass. Hmm....

Well, that $900 figure is prolly about right, and prolly about as low as you'll get. You can get aluminum shafts for about $300 or less. Course, the freakin automatic Dakota's come with that already. My 5-spd has a two-piece and I can't find anybody who wants to make one of those in aluminum, steel, plastic or cardboard. Guess I'm screwed.

I think that pstds.com would build you a two piece. Maybe even a one piece two replace it. It'd just have to be a little thicker. They make two piece for other vehicles I think.

Let me know what you measure. I wouldn't mind getting a quote as well. Those drive shafts are supposed to help put a lot more power to the ground as well as be safer than steel shafts.

Yeah, if you bust a u-joint on the starting line, they just shatter into fiber. Not like having a steel shaft flapping into the side of the gas tank.

What year did the aluminum drive shaft become stand on dakotas? I have a '99 R/T (single cab) and I'm sure it is made out of steel. Anyone know the weight difference between the steel and aluminum versions on the single piece shaft??

Jonas,
Sweet work with the carbon fiber parts! What are the chances on a carbon fiber bed? Although, this would probably not be good idea for my truck(single cab). Less weight in the rear on street tires sounds like trouble for hooking up at the track. I'll probaby go with all carbon fiber in the front and keep the steel in the rear, which should get me closer to the 50/50 ratio on weight distribution. Anyways, Sweet work!

Eli
