OK, I see tons on here about taking the cats off, my ? is how do you not get the check engine light when you do it? i have a 97 5.2 CC and i only have 1 cat and 2 o2 sensors. I know from previous experience with my mustang that they run fin with no cats and the check engine light on, but aren't the obd-II systems going to go into limp mode if the cats gone? also the dealer is putting a brand new cat on for me(warranty) so i was just curious so when i put a whole new exhaust on if i can get rid of the cat. yes i know it's illegal,i don't care, but if it's going to hurt power than i won't do it.

also, who makes a nice y pipe for these trucks, i have only seen a couple and they are $$$$$. just wondered waht people here use for y pipe and cat back.

also does anyone make a true dual kit for these or do i need to go custom for that? hey thanks in advance guys.....

This guy sells a nifty little device that simulates the O2 sensor behind your catalytic converter (.http://www.casperselectronics.com/cgi-local/store/commerce.cgi?product=HID). All you have to do is remove the oxygen sensor (the one behind the cat, of course) and plug in the oxygen simulator. I've been running my truck cat free for over a month now with no problems. I've also heard that you can build your own oxygen simulator for about $15 in parts from Radio Shack, but I can't give you any information on how to go about that.

Hope this helps!

yeah they sell the o2 simulators in summit and jegs now , like 20 or 30 bucks a piece. thats what i had planned unless i find out otherwise, or people have any better solutions, oh and forget the earlier dual exhaust question, i don't think it's worth it for me right now...
