Message: I purchased a Rober Shaw 180 thermostat.
2 things, seal did not come with the thermostat and schucks does not have the part.
Can the old one be reused? or is a trip to the dealer in order.
2. I am not a total morron but I started following the hose from the radiator and it connects to a flange that disapears behind the alternator.
Where is the thermostat located and how long of a job is changing it out?
thanks in advance.

Message: The 4.7 has a rubber "O" ring for sealing, it should be reusable

Message: Jaggy,
first of all, what in the H*LL is that a picture of?
I saw on your profile that you have the 4.7.
The t-stat is in the block, behind a plastic housing, on the lower hose.
Do a search, and you'll get excellent instructions about the install. If you e-mail me, I'll write them out also.
Good luck,
Todd
