Message: my A/C clutch wont engage...i was wondering the cheapest way to fix this...the shop said they could put a new clutch in but thats $250 alone for the clutch then id have installation...but a friend said i could put a whole new compressor on off of a dak at a junkyard then jus fill it back up with the freeon stuff with a charger from autozone...is that possible? if so can anyone give me all the steps i need to do so? thanks in advance...
Message: why wont the clutch engage? most of the time the systems either low on freon, compressor clutch relay is bad, or a concern with the a/c control head. you can put a usd compressor on your truck if yours is truly bad, but see if its low on freon, possible leak at the evaporator, condensor, seal in the shaft in front of compressor, and so on.hope this helps.
