Message: This is not a problem with my Dak but with my wife's 1996 3.8L town & country minivan.Well yesterday my wife got to the parking lot of her work place and the van died on her. She startered and turn on for a few seconds and died again. She startered again about four times before it completely died and it won't start anymore. It cranks but doesn't turn on. I checked for:
Fuel pressure,
Fuel pump,
Voltage to injectors,
Voltage to the coil,
Fuses and relays,
and the coil itself.
Everything checks out but still can't get spark from coil even thought the coil is supplied with voltage. I checked the wiring diagram and the spark signal is supplied to the spark plugs directly from the PCM. I also read that if the computer doesn't get a signal from the crankshaft sensor or camshaft sensor, the auto shut down (ASD) relay will de-energize the coil, but it also says that these two sensors can only be checked with a diagnostic scanner, which I don't have. By the way, the van had recently problems with the ignition key getting stuck and also my mistake, I removed the (ODI or IOD)memory fuse but I put it back. If you have any info that could let me solve this problem, I would greatly appreciate it. I know is not a DAK but I heard there are several dodge and chrysler certified technicians in this forum.
