Message: This may be a stupid question, but what exactly are people referring to when they speak of 3.92's and 4.56s, i it gears? and how does that benefit the truck/performance?
thanks in advance for taking the time to answer my question.

Message: Its the rear-end gears. The numbers referr to the ratio of motor rpms vs. axel rpms, reg daks come with 3.55 gears and R/T's with a stouter 3.92 rear end. Up grading to 4.56 means even a stronger gearing ratio. There are several guys on this board who can explain it in great detail.

Message: R/T's have 9.25 rear ends, so no they will not work in a 8.25. And as far as including limited slip, thats hilarious ! Posi-trac cost $250 alone plus $200 for the gears, so Im not selling $450 worth of parts for $125. (Shipping is $25 of that $150)
