Last night some little ba$tereds broke into my truck! I have a 2002 club cab 4x4 with the factory alarm. They used a screwdriver under the bottom peice of plastic around the door handle, like they were doing for the 94-01 Rams, but I didn't think they would be able to get in with out setting the alarm off, it's 15 feet away from my windo and i didn't here anything, and i when i unlocked it, it didn't honk 3 times to tell me if went off in the night. The manual says that there are only 2 ways is disarm the alarm, one is to use the key fob, and the other is to insert the key and turn the cylinder over. Well all i have to say is that the factory alarm is junk, if you can get in with out setting it off, them why bother having it? I even tested it and it works, but only if someone was to break the window, so tomorrow i'm gonna give my dealer $hit and try to get them to pay my insurance.

Just wondering if anyone else out there has had the same problem with the factoy alarm

my brother was at the meadow lands in new jersey with his 02 accord. anyway its a show car. 3 subs in the back along w/ amp and campacitor. in his dash he has a flip out lcd screen and a head unit. they broke in the same way. popped his door handle with a screw driver. his alarm went off but they just cut it. luckily when he installed everything he bolted his lcd screen and his radio to the firewall so they couldn't get it out. but they ripped his entire dash apart trying. also looks like they went for his passenger airbag but didn't succeed. then they went to the trunk and he worked on the box the day before so he didn't bolt that back down so they took that and just busted the amp off the bolts and took that. insurance covered it and he had to pay the 500 dectubile.

Thanks midnightdak, but the thing that pisses me off is they didn't even take a thing, i had 20cd's in my truck they didn't even move them, like wtf? So i made my claim today, gonna get it looked at next wed. The dealer said he's gonna fix some scratchs from some stupied women on my fender flare for free, and she already paid me for it, so theres money in my pocket.

The factory alarm is junk. Mine only disarms with the remote. Went out to eat one nite. I just grabbed my spare key and headed out. Locked my truck, ate, came back out, unlocked my door manually, started my truck, engine started, then quit. The alarm wouldn't disarm. You would think that if a key is in the ignition, that would be enough. Had to have my neighbor pick me up, take me home, grab my remote, and take me back to my truck. Meanwhile I had called the dealer and tried everything they told me I had to do to get it going. Nothing worked. Another time I was hunting, came out of the woods, and had a dead battery in my remote. Still wouldn't let me have my truck, even with the key in the ignition. I just waited a while and tried it a few times and finally unlocked with the remote. I gotta get a new alarm.

Believe it or not...here in Texas it's legal to shoot someone breaking in to your vehicle at your home, but only at night! Just a thought...

Hunting takes on a whole new meaning in Texas. Must be nice to be able to kill a few of them little bastards and not even have to have a hunting license.

My 2000 CC was broken into this past Wed morning. Some li'l crack addict went in through the passenger club cab window by breaking it after scrathing the heck out of the paint. Once inside he stole my $500 Eclipse head unit, some small change out of my center console, some medication, and my........dome light. What the heck did he steal my dome light for? Anyway, he was smart to leave my 9mm alone, guess he realized that changed the charges tremedously.

Seems he did the same thing to a guy several house down from me a little over a week ago, he cleaned the guys house out and then came back a few days ago and cleaned out his camaro AND stole one of his rearview mirrors. That guy had an idea who it was and reported him to the police who went by his house and after looking around, found my medication with my name and address on it and then made a visit to my house where I got questioned on why a crack addict had my prescription drugs. Occifer changed his tune when I pointed to the shattered window laying all over the driveway and the missing glass in my club cab. Asked him about my radio and he said they had found a radio also but I'd have to wait for them to process everything. I them asked him... "Did you find my dome light? What the hell does a crack monster who don't own a car need with a domelight from a Dodge Dakota and a rearview mirror from a Chevy Camaro...he building an AMC or what? If you don't know AMC's then never mind. Seems like my ordeal will turn out for the best, hope you all get your stuff back also.

Alarm Only Disarms if you put the key in the cylinder and turn... this is the same a punching the lock, using a slimjim, or breaking the window and reaching in and unlocking the door .. the action of turning the key-lock cylinder and yanking the bar between the lock and the door handle is the same.. and disarmed the security system.

Why did they steal the dome light ? many alarms use the dome light circuit, sensing current flow, to set off the alarm when the light comes on.. remove the bulb after breaking the window and no current flow when they open the door.. no alarm.

The standard factory alarm/security system is a only marginally better than just locking the doors, the lowest of low life thiefs can disarm them..

Just got my truck broken into. They broke my passenger window and yanked out the stereo. They did not steal anything else. I have a $1000 stereo system and they left that. They even left my $200 radar detector that they had to move out of the way to get to my radio. My alarm did not go off since they did not open any of my doors. They just reached in and grabbed my deck. This really sucks!

They stole your stereo? Then you say you have a $1000 stereo and they left it? I'm confused.

They stole my cd deck but they did not take my subs or amp that is worth $1000. I rarely ever bypass my alarm where my alarm only goes off if any of my doors are open or if my hood is opened. That night I did and now I never bypass my alarm. Them a$$holes just broke my window and reached over and grabbed my deck. I think they got scared to finish the rest because my dog was going nuts at the time. But the good news is that My neighbor woke up because of my dog and ID'd how they looked and what kind of car they drove. So Now I'm starting hunting season early this year.

I say that any scum sucking, lowlife POS that gets caught breaking into someone's vehicle or stealing someone's property deserves all the hurt that they can get. I used to teach personal firearms and handgun classes in Texas, and I retain a special love for that state yet today. GOD BLESS TEXAS!

both mine were broken into.
lost a stereo.
but the stupid factor here is that both times they popped the ignition they had the wrong size screw driver to to start it up. both times they left my tool kit ,which has it own insureance and is worth more than the 93"s present market value.both times they left the cd changer.

at the same time this had gone on there was about 15 other hits. the worst was by a lady who called the police cause her car had been tampered with the night before. cop shows up, cant really do anything other than a report but reccommends a CLUB. next day a piece of plastic trim and the club is in her parking spot. car was never found
