No, there aren't. But the "89 Shelby, warmed over omni fastback" might be. Dude, get a clue. This is a Dakota web site. When someone talks about a '89 Shelby, it's probably the truck. There may be trucks that have reached speeds in excess of 222 mph for about 2 seconds. This truck hit a two-way average speed of 222 mph over a three mile course. It's peak was higher. Sure, a top fuel dragster may be able to hit 320 mph in the quarter, but if it were asked to travel at even 222 mph for even 1 mile, it would be history! And if you are talking about other purpose built landspeed record vehicles, the next closest "pickup truck" was the special ranger prepared by roush a couple of years ago and it only hit like 217 or so. Dude, this pig towed its own equipment trailer to bonneville, averages 21 mpg on the highway and is street-legal! This is a realm of fast previously unheard of!

P.S. Sorry for the flame, but you gotta do a little research before you post stuff like this.

And the beauty of it is that that engine is merely a lightly worked (albeit the replacement turbo was an expensive unit) version of the new cummins H.O. 5.9. According to Banks literature, all that was done was headwork and a new turbo (larger injectors for dyno and speed runs). But, what a turbo! I'm thinking that the boost pressure was like 55psi! You'd think the heads would have to be welded-on!

Auto mobile mag (TV) magazines hasn't said not one F-ucking thing about it??? I'm expecting to get my TruckTrend magazine pretty soon. And the editor, Mark Willams said he would do article about the truck but haven't yet had time to do so. Well I say hurry up! And lets not forget that that engine was a might 6B ISB Cummins motor. Now if only you could put that in a Ram 1/2 ton :)
