only two rearends are offered on these trucks... the 8.25 10 bolt or the 9.25 10 bolt in 3 different gear ratios... there isn't a "new" rearend on the new trucks... the 03 R/T's do have rear disc though.

the 9.25" is a 12 bolt, and has some straight edges on the cover (design).
the 8.25" is a 10 bolt and is mostly round in shape.
