Message: I'm not sure...my tranny won't shift outta first until I left off the throttle...thought it mightof been the Goveronor Pressure Switch but all that was checked by a DRB scanner and everything scanned ok so no clue.
Dave at B&G doesn't seem to think his Cal has anything to do w/ this but its a little too coincidental that this happened a week after I put it on.
The code read P0601...PCM Internal Fault Detected....in the Chrysler handbook it says to replace PCM.

Message: Yeah he did offer to reflash it for free...I asked him if I bought a new or used 2001 PCM if he could carry over all my info to the new PCM and he said yes.
I've heard that the PCM's that come w/ the gray key have a chip in them that ties hand in hand w/ the PCM so if u don't have everything exactly the same on the PCM that matches the chip in the key then they won't work. Heard that from Bernd but I dunno if its true or not.

Message: There is a SKIM module in many of the '01s. It's basically a black box for theft deterrance. It mounts in the steering column around the key tumbler. If your truck has this, there is a 4 digit code that must be programmed into the replacement PCM. The 4 digit code is listed on your original sticker, if you have it, or the dealer would have to look it up. Without the correct code entered, the truck would start, but shut off after 2 seconds.
I have a used 49 state '01 PCM out of an R/T. Email offlist bob@coralfarms.com if you're interested. I have $110 in it with shipping.
