Subject: air bubbles in pin strip IP: Logged
Message: Are air bubbles common when you get a new pin srip put on? I had my fender painted a couple of days ago, and yesterday I noticed bubbles in the pin stripe ('91). The body guy said that when the weather warms up (i'm in Canada) and the sun hits the stripe, it'll work itself out. Is this true?

Message: Normally as the water dries ( they usually use soapy water to ease installation) under the strip the bubbles will dis-appear but if it's been a few days and you still see bubbles most likely they're going to stay, sometimes the installer will use the tip of a sharp razor knife to pop the bubbles than they can work them out, If your in a cold climate i would try using a heat gun or better yet a blow dryer to see if the heat works the bubbles out no sense in waiting until it gets warm to see if what the guy said is true, by than they could be out of business and long gone better to find out now
