Well let see I wanted to dress up my dakota with a roll pan and hidden hitch so I call up AIM and asked some question like how are the steel roll pans mounted and he told me to take off my factory bumper and this one mounts right to the frame of the truck well that sounded good. then I asked what all was included in the price he said I would get the roll pan, mounting hardware and the plate light. Well needless to say when it arrived the packing was terrible. I took it inside and opened it up and took a look at it and saw nowhere to mount it on the back like I was told. Then I started to look for the light and mounting hardware and there was none. So I call them on the phone and the whole story, changed first I asked them about mounting, they now said it needed to be welded or screwed to the rear 1/4 panel (not what I was told at first)then I asked about the light and mounting hardware they said there is no hardware that I needed to go to the hardware store and buy some (a product without hardware???)So I asked about returning it they said there was a 35% restocking fee and I needed to pay to have it reshipped (which would have totaled about $150 w/shipping) then they said they if I wanted the light it was an extra $26 but the could give it to me for $10 and no shipping after all why spend $150 and not have nothing or spend $10 more and have no more worries. (ok maybe there trying to make it right by cutting me a break......NO)When I got the package it was a linense plate holder with a light hows that suppose to fit in a 2 x 1 square that was already cut in the roll pan by them. So I called them back again this time I got a different guy so without explaining any of the other things going on I said "Do you sell roll pan lights" the guy on the other end said yes they are $11 (what 11 I thought the other guy said 26) So now I hung up the phone with him and call back this time I got the guy that originally sold me the roll pan and that I talked to the second time and I told him "Hey you sent me out the wrong item I needed a light for my roll pan not a license plate holder" He said "we don't sell lights for the roll pan". Wait a minute didn't the other guy just say they did for $11.

Well this is pretty long. But you should get the meaning of the story.

And if the guy (Derek)at AIM is reading this you can KISS MY ASS!!!

Feel better? You should post that on ALL truck forums. Fix this first, though:
"So I call them on the phone and the whole story, changed first I asked..."
Kind of confusing.

After you calm down, make it a project to make a license plate light. Also, you could get someone to weld it for you really cheap. I would check around at body shops or discount muffler shops.

Dude, if you paid with a credit card, just dispute the charge with your card company. Tell them the same story you told us and they will take off the charge. Then you can tell AIM to "explain" it to the cedit company, they will have to do alot of paper work and you will still win. If you paid by check, you dont have much leverage but ask to speek to a manager and they should, possibly, maybe, could make it right.ALWAYS USE CREDIT CARDS FOR "BIND" PURCHASES!

Good Luck

AIM's slogan.

With all that vast intelligence you have, I bet you have a lucrative (sorry, well paying) job. It seems money is of very little importance to you, but if I still lived with my mommy, I guess I could throw away 150$ like it was nothing too. Something strikes me as peculiar (sorry, whack). With all that money you have, you choose to drive a kids toy. If I had so much money laying around that it no longer mattered where it went, I sure as HELL would not be driving around in a "mini" truck. But I guess "mini" says alot about you.

I gotta say, from my own experience, AIM simply is lazy and lacks in customer support. Their products are rushed and made with lousy quality. I purchased shackles from them, and 2 months later, the grease point broke off. I went to my local off road shop (Pro Trucks) and wanted to order a flip kit that was from AIM. They said NOOOOOOO. Obviously AIM's horrible reputation is floating around the country. Very sad.

To the orgional poster, Thanks for the insight on the whole ordeal. AIM has really not been very trustworthy around here. Just search for AIM on this site and youll see. I suggest you search here before you buy anything for your dak. Just for future reference. But thanks for your effort to help others.
To all you other bickering retards, get a life and post about something that has meaning. And stop cloggen up this site with your useless bullsh!t. You can write back to me, jump up and down on your teaddy bear, or piss on your keyboard, but your sh!t wont faze me. But if you want to waste your time, be my guest.

Later to all the decent people out there.
Joe E.
