Not trying to be a jerk but try it and make sure your tire pressure is exactly what is recommended both front and rear when COLD. Put the factory stuff back on with a new air filter and take off the tornado and replace the factory air box and I bet your mileage improves at least 2-5 mpg! The Tornado is a joke. Most homemade air intakes restrict the air flow. Why would you think you are smarter then an automotive engineer? Let me guess, you saw it on the internet!? ;-)

Message: Dak95,
Thats a good idea about the air in the tires. However, I did see an increase in mpg when i switched to my homemade cold air system, actually about 2.5 mpg increase. You're right about the tornado, it didn't help much, maybe .5 mpg. But I hate to take it off now, since I've bought it. Thanks

Message: not tryin to be a jerk, but the tornado is worthless. *See the past message on it* (Ive seen proof on a Dyno with 3 different cars LOOSING HP) If youre going that rout, look at a TB spacer, like the powerdine, etc. Wouldnt expect HUGE gains though.

I drive my 95 CC 4X4 120 miles a day....yep, 60 miles each way to work and back! I've tried all the gimmicks and toys and have found the Autolight 3923 plugs with a 180 T-Stat, stock intake and tire pressure has worked the best. Tailgate up or down has no effect either!
Just my observations after about 50,000 miles of "testing"!
Of course, "your milage may vary"!

Message: Would a less restrictive air intake system, such as a K&N, actually DECREASE mpg? It seems to me that if the engine is getting more air, the computer will add more fuel to keep the air/fuel ratio corrected, thus decreasing the mileage. It's good for making more power, but not necessarilly good for gas mileage. Am I wrong?
