 Subject: Wiper Trouble

My wiring harness got cut by the lower radiator support in an accident. I have reconnected the harness and changed several fuses. Everything works ok except the wipers. Whenever the key is on, the wipers are on low speed. Here is what I don't understand, why does it stop when I disconnet the multifunction switch, but the switch checks good for continuity? And why do they continue to work when the relay is removed? any help would greatly be appreciated.
'97 CC with a 5.2 and intermittent wipers

I would be checking for other wires that are grounding....with dvm, positive lead to "checking" wire and negative to battery ground....almost certain that one or two might be a needed ground....would help to disconnect the bcm harness also.....also disconnect and check for wiring issues at the wiper relay....hope this helps....
