I have a 2001 Durango and just got a set of PIAA 510 fog lights. Trouble is that the install description shows that the stocks are mounted to the bumper. WRONG. On my 2001, the fogs are mounted to and part of the fascia. The fascia actually has a hood looking thing that is molded with it that the lights fit up into. Has anybody replaced the fogs on a 2001? If so, how did you go about mounting them? I am thinking about cutting that hood out and mounting to the frame like the instructions show, or altering the fascia some way. Ideas????

Replaced my stock with the PIAA 510 fog lights. I had to cut fascia mounting brackets out. Basicly all was left was hole in fascia for fog lights. I ordered the mounting brackets for the 510 and it mounted to bumper. Holes are already there in bumper. These are really bright fog lights. Hope this helps.

That is what I figured I was going to have to do. Knowing that is the route somebody else took and had it work out is a load off my mind. I also have the mounting kit, so it should go pretty good. I am taking the fascia off to install the Street Scene inserts anyway, so it should be pretty easy to cut the stock mounting hardware away.

Any wire cutting to install the 510's? Just wondering if you retain all stock wiring and still use stock dash head/foglight switch to operate. Been thinkin about upgrading from the cheaply made factory fogs. Thx. Bob.

Bob,
I cut factory connectors off and spliced PIAA's wires to the factory wires. I used existing factory fog light switch with no problems.
