Subject: 4x4 front end squeaking? IP: Logged
Message: I have a 02 QC 4x4 which I rarely drive offroad. This weekend, I went to a paint ball range that was down a road that looked like it had been shelled with artillery:) I made it down no problem, but every time I went over a large bump, the front end would give a loud squeaking sound. It's very annoying. Is this normal, or should I have it looked at?

Message: It's probably the sway bar bushings. I had the dealer replace mine at 30K miles because they squeaked really bad. It's been quiet ever since.

Message: Same here. Anoying loud creeking whenever I hit even a small bump. The dealer replaced sway bar bushings (new bushing made of different material than stock) and problem went away.

Message: Yep, sway bar bushings. A tip I got off of here is to use belt dressing or silicone tape. Haven't tried either one, but I have used silicone spray lube. It works temporarily, you just have to keep doing it after it rains.
