Message: Do you have the factory towing package? If you do, it should be near the steering column. If you don't have the factory tow package, there isn't any brake controller plug.

Message: If you install the factory 7-pin wiring harness, it does not have a plug for the brake controller. It does have a wire for the brakes. The only way you get the plug for the brake controller is if it comes from the factory with wiring harness installed (which is part of the towing package). The brake controller plug just has connections for +12V, ground, brake light, and brakes. Wiring it up yourself isn't that difficult. Run two wires to the battery for +12V and ground. The brake light wire is the white wire with tan stripe coming off the brake light switch. Splice the appropriate wire from the brake controller into this wire. The brake wire is in the wiring harness. If you don't have a brake controller and need one, I would highly recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy. It's what I have on my Dakota and it works great without needing a lot of adjustments.

Message: I have a 20 amp (maybe it's 25 amp) resettable relay between the battery and the brake controller. I found the relay at an RV store. You need this in case there is a short in the trailer brakes. Otherwise, you could end up frying your brake controller.

Message: My mistake. Mine is actually a circuit breaker, not a relay. You should be fine with what you have.
