I read that a few of the 2000 4.7's had some seizing problems, etc.
How many miles do you have on your 4.7?
Any internal engine problems?
You don't need to list mods, just yr, and total miles. For or brothers/sisters up north, please convert for us Texans!
I'll start:
01 4.7, >32,500miles, NO internal engine probs!

No problems,,,runs better than the day I bought it.
Looking into a new motor simply because of the amount of mileage I put on a vehicle. Looking at a built 440,,or 383.

Duner, You the man!
Just some posts I saw about the sludge in the filler tube prob, and a few seized under warranty, and initially coverage was refused b/c the dealer said 'improper maintenance'! These people had the receipts of the same dealer changing the oil!
Don't think it's a prob with many at all! I love this engine! Installing my HO intake in a few weeks! Already got the cams, other minor mods, runs awesome!

I had 96,000 mi on mine when I traded it in on a 2003 Hemi last week. But the motor was still running strong and no problems with the truck, but I had to have a Hemi and could not wait for dodge to put them in a Dakota.I would highly recommend the 4.7/ Dakota combo to anyone.

'02 CC w/ 45RFE auto.
30K miles and ZERO problems with rear, tranny, or engine. Mods actually made it more fuel efficient (when my foot is not buried into the floorboard, that is). Oil analysis shows exceptionally low overall wear at 30K. Mobil 1 5w30 used exclusively, along with Mobil Filters.

'00 w/ 67,000+ miles. Replaced a couple of sensors, specifically the crank position and cam sensor for $300 labor and parts around 60K mi. Other then that still runs like new. All original components except an IP air intake.

42K miles. Runs perfect. I wish I had the low miles that some of you have. Oh well. Hopefully by the time I wear out the 4.7 Dodge will pull their heads out of a$$'s and offer a diesel option for the dak. But I do love the power I have now.

54000 with extended drain intervals and oil analysis. Runs like a top.
