Message: If I am not mistaken, I think that the V-8 Dakota's and maybe the trucks with the H.D towing packages have a Chrysler 9.25" axle and the standard trucks have something like a 8.25" axle. Don't hold me to this, but I remember reading something along these lines.

Message: 8.25 differential is oval shape and the 9.25 is octagon.These are called corporate axles.
Not Dana's
The front axle is a c205f
C = Corporate
205 = mm ring gear
F = Front.

Message: Patrick,
All the shops I have talked to including numerous dealers say the front on 2000 Daks is a reverse cut Dana 35. I have always understood that corporate axles were GM axles. Ford has always used their own 8.25 or 9 in rears and some times Dana's up front usually 44's, GM - Corporate 12 or 14 bolt rears and sometimes Danas up front and Dodge/Chrysler uses Chrysler 8.25's or 9.25's. All the ring and pinion shops I have talked to ( Randy's, 4 Wheel Parts, Precision Gear etc) all list Chrysler and Coporate axles seperatly. I could be mistaken but that I what I have found over the years.
