 Subject: 1993 Dakota Transfer Case 231 or 241?

The TC in my 93 Dakota is toast. The Haynes manual states that it is a NP241 but after doing some searches on the web, I have found posts that state that this is a misprint. Can someone clarify this?
On the same topic, I have also heard that (if it is a 241) that the guts out of a 231 (Dodge or Jeep) will go into it but not be as strong.
Any help you can give would be appreciated. Thanks.

If you can crawl underneath your truck and take a look on the side of your transfer case there should be a tag on it with the model number.
