Subject: door panel removal IP: Logged
Message: I went to take off my door panels today to install new front speakers and i couldn't figure out how to get the window crank off for the life of me. I did this before on my old Ranger with ease and this set up is different and seems to be a royal pain in the arse. Can anyone explain to me how to get the window crank off?

Message: Use a little screw driver to pull off the clip. Its the shape of a U. They have a tool to do it, but a little screw driver is better. There are four regular screw, maybe three. and a torque screw behing the door handle

Message: I just did mine and I tried the screw drive, count get the clip off, came close but nope... I posted on here and someone responded with the best thing I ever heard of, I didnt think it would work, but trust me it does I couldnt believe my eyes when the clip came off.
Get a shop towl, or a rag or something, not take a corner and kinda put itin the crank by the door, but in between the plastic washer and the crank (if you dont have a plastice washer then just in between the door and the crank) now wrap the rag by hand once or twice around. now take the handle of the crank and start cranking, you might have to take the window up and down a few times, but the fibers of the rag get cought on the clip and pop it right off, becarfull the clip is small so dont loose it when it pops off, but its gold so you should be able to find it.
now to put it back on, the clip is a U shape with litel indents on the ends, take the clip and the crank and push the clip on the crand untill those 2 indented ends go into the holes on the crank, then just push the crank on the thing sticking out your door, the clip ecpands on its own and clips the crand back on the door.. its pretty simpe once you figure it out.
hope that makes sence! good luck

Message: Just take a paper clip and straighten the end out, then use needle nose pliers to make a very small hook on the end. Now you can fish around in there and pull the clip out.
