Subject: My own brake noise...2000 CC
IP: Logged

Message:
My 2000 CC has got an odd noise coming from the brakes, I havent determined front or rear yet though.
I replaced the front pads about 7000 miles ago and turned the rotors for the first time too. I checked the back shoes and they have almost the same amount of brake material as the new set that I bought.
The noise is more of a dull grinding noise and can be felt in the pedal, the truck itself plus can be somewhat heard, there is also what sounds like pre-wear indicator squeaks from time to time also but once again, the pads and shoes are either new or have almost all their material left.
Neither the rotors or the drums have any scoring on them from the rivets on the pads/shoes.
I have no problems braking and am not an aggressive braker, in fact 90% of my driving is highway miles so the brakes aren't used as much as an around the city-driven truck.
Any ideas?
