Subject: 4.7 Bellhousing Question IP: Logged
Message: Is the bellhousing bolt pattern the same on
the 4.7 and 5.2/5.9? I've seached to no avail.
I'm wanting a new Tremec but right now
Keisler (the company that makes the KRC
Tremec swap for the Dakota RT) only offers it
for the 5.9.
I emailed them and they didn't think the 4.7
had a unique bolt pattern compared to the 5.9
but I'm sure I read somewhere it's different.
Please advise.
Thanks,
Lemmers

Message: I do know that the bellhousing is integral to the NV-3500 case, and that the NV-3500 was developed specifically for the Dakota. If the bellhousing is part of the tranny case, I can't imagine that DC engineers would develop an entirely separate bolt-pattern just for the new engines. The cost would be too high.
That's not a definite, but it's probably the truth.

Message: Lemmers, Go to Keisler-Automotive's web site. They have entire kits for the 4.7L thay use a tremec TKOII tranny. It comes with EVERYTHING you need to do a total swap. They just released the 4.7L Kit. The kit even comes with a drive shaft. Less than $2900.
