 Subject: oil change

This is my first time changing my oil and when I tried to take the bolt off of the oil pan it would just spin and spin... I can't get the bolt to either fully close or come off. Please help and give me advice on what I should do!

Try a pair of vise-grips and pull on the bolt and turn it slowly. With any luck a thread will catch and the bolt will back out. Now starts the hard part. There are rethreading kits, if the oil pan is stripped, plus several other types of fixes. A good auto parts store may be able to help. With luck you have just a stripped bolt and a new one will fix you up. You may have found someone's overtightening of the bolt. But good luck getting it fixed.
