Message: Well I am embaressed to say I fell for the TV ad and brought one of these worthless things, not only did it decrease the the gas mileage, It made my V6 Dak even more sluggish than it was before. Than to add insult to injury. When I tried to return it thay told me it is used and not returnable( so much for a 30 day money back guarantee) I just thought i would pass along this bit of info so others don't make the same mistake i did. I have learned my lesson about things on TV

Message: Try calling the Better Business Bureau. File a complaint and then call the Tornado people and tell them you just filed a complaint. Or hold the threat of a complaint over their heads. I've seen a few companies give in at the threat of complaints to the BBB.

Message: Richard,
If they offered a 30 day guarantee and didn't honor it, contact the Better Business Bureau and/or your State Attorney's office. Chances are there are other complaints and will settle with you rather quickly. The most it will cost you is some postage and a few phone calls. Also, make copies of the warranty and get any names of the people you talk to at Tornado. You'll need them.

Message: This thing is Fantastic! I put it in my 95 pontiac grandam. This thing never started on the first key turn. It always took 2 times to start. It also didn't pass emission inspection. When I installed this device, It started on the first turn of the key everytime after, and it passed emissions inspection after it was installed. I bet the more sluggish and over 200k mile cars work better. Anyway, how can you argue with feedback like this.. copy and paste this link and see for yourself.

Message: Don't sweat it man... it happens to the best of us. I fell for the GM throttle body air foil scam. I spent $70 on a TPIS part that claimed it was a 10hp add on. What I got was this block of aluminum that fits the gap in between the TB openings.
I've seen many many many people fall for retarded scams like this. My favorite one now is the idiots who buy those "electric superchargers" and think they are going to smoke the ¼ mile.
Live and learn and do you research... it's the best you can do.

If I remember right, it was the September 2005 Popular Mechanics they tested all of these fuel savings devices and none of them worked. With a few of them including the tornado, they LOST power but it otherwise didn't effect MPG at all.

Save your money and don't buy the Tornado. Those TV mechanics will tell you whatever the advertiser wants them to tell you.

Message: from the popular mechanics link:
Again, we tested two devices. The TornadoFuelSaver is a nicely made stainless steel contraption, available in an assortment of sizes to fit most vehicles. We installed it on our truck's intake tract immediately upstream of the MAF sensor. We purchased the second device, the Intake Twister, on eBay. It was crudely handmade from sheet-aluminum flashing and pop rivets. It looked like something we could make in about 10 minutes from an old soda can. The staff at UTI was reluctant to install it: The bent sheetmetal vanes looked as if they might break off and be digested by the engine. The device is one-size-fits-all, and is simply bent into a curl to insert it into the intake duct.
THE DYNO SAYS: Both devices reduced peak horsepower by more than 10 percent. The Intake Twister increased fuel consumption by about 20 percent; the TornadoFuelSaver provided no significant change.

Message: Some vehicles have been shown to have improvements...however, i don't believe Dakotas are one of them.
My friend's dad is a manager at one of the local car dealerships (the Car & Credit lot) and he says the Tornado Fuel Saver does actually work pretty well in I think it was Chevy S-10s. Usually they're just a waste of hard earned money though.
