Have Dakota '01, 2,5l, 4 cyl and engine light came on. Before that it was running rough and lost some power for about 20 seconds. Then it was running smooth again. A few miles later it did it aging. Then I checked the error code P0203. According to obdii.com

Open or shorted condition detected in control circuit for injector #3 or the INJ

But I think it has carburetor not injection engine....??

Any ideas?

Thanks,
JYS

I don't
EVEN know about that.

An 01, 4cyl, with a carburated engine?

Is it a quad cab too? J/K

an 01 well be beyond any doubt a fuel injected engine, most likely multiport fuel injection.

Check the harness to the injector. Open means it's not making a connection. Pull them off and put them back on. Sometimes connectors get a little corroded and this helps to clean them off. If it's a short, it should have blown a fuse. Check those two things.
