Message: I need some help with a Tranny Question. I have a 92 Dakota with the 4cyl eng. and a 5-spd manual transmission (2wd). I want to replace the 4cyl with the 3.9L. My question is this: Other than the fact the bell housing must be different, is the 5-spd tranny the same for both engines? I have yet to get a clear answer to this question - I'm hoping someone on this board may have traveled down this path before me.
