Im a 17 year old driver with 4 months under my belt with my license. I own a 92, 3.9, 5sp. 4wd dak. I live in the suburbs of upstate ny. Around here there are alot of ricers that just piss me off. I have raced numerous ones and have been sucessfull on several occasions. Not bad for a stock dak. Although, I found out racing can be a bad thing.
The other day I was driving home from my technical school on one of our fun twisty roads with my frined in his 4 bang saturn following me. He began to ride my ass a bit, so i decided to show him up a bit.
So I caught up quick to a blue taurus on a double yellow, I checked the opposite lane and flew by him from 3rd to 4th. I thought hah, and thought nothing of it. Next I looked in my rear view and my friend in his saturn decided to pass the taurus too. Well he just made it by almost clipping a van coming from the opposite direction. I was like, "phew, that was close," then I looked back again and saw flashing lights and my friend in his saturn gettin pulled over by an undercover cop!!!!
I had no idea undercover cops drove taurus' with lights in em. So sure enough I got the hell out of there.
I talked to my friend the next day and he didnt get a ticket, but he did get a huge surprise and a good lecture. I still cant believe how close i was to getting pulled over myself. Passing a cop over a double yellow...sheesh

My sister-n-law was hit a few years ago head on by an idiot like you guys who "thought" he could make it. Well he didn't...after being ripped out of the car by FD and multiple injuries the kid now pays her evry month what the insurance policy didn't cover.

Hey, I know exactly what youre talking about, I wasnt in my dak though my girlfriend drives a 2003 Acura 3.2TS Well actually its her moms but they went out of town and left her with the car, Im 19 by the way, anyways She let me drive cause I wanted to see what the Acura could do, man nice car! power shifter and everything anyways, me a freind in a saturn V6 and another guy in a V6 F150 Sport (gay truck) decided to have some fun, well we past a supra trying to get him to race but he wouldnt so me and the saturn decided to do it ourselves, we were on a 2 lane street (one lane each way with a center yellow lane) he pulls up next to me in the yellow lane, and we gun it the street was only a 35mph Im not use to driving that car so I dont know how fast we got but all the suddon in my rearview I see flashing lights, motor cop DARN IT! well i pull over imidiatly and my friend decided to keep going and made a while turn down a wrong way street, well the cop goes by me and goes after my friend I decided to take back off and park it and NEVER drive that car again, man it was a nice car though lots more power then my stock V6 dak. My friend got 6 tickets that night, and his liscened provocted. Oh and the guy in the F150, he decided to go and follow the cop, and the cop ended up flaging him down and giving him 2 tickets dont knwo why he went down there but ohwell sucks for him... Ive decided to go stricktly show with my truck now and not drive like that anymore scared the crap out of me, and if I do race, Ill keep it on the track. You guys were extremely lucky, I was extremely lucky Thankfully it didnt take something more serious to happen to make me change my driving.

Im sorry that I did seem to upset some of the members. I now relize what a dangerous move that really was. Even though my lane was fine with no signs of others coming, I still endangered the lives of my friends and others on the roads. I was just provocted with showing this kid up but now I know that doing stuff like that could kill me or any innocent victim on the road...

my friends cousin was killed by a teenager passing a school bus. brian was in his stakebody ford, coming the opposite direction than the school bus and the teenager tried to pass the bus and they hit head on. the police estimated that the teenager was doing 75 in a 35. he is now being tried as an adult for vehicular homicide.(sp) brian was 17.
