Subject: HELP. Dak tranny died!!!! IP: Logged
Message: Alright. A few days ago, noticed a clicken sound when I put my truck into drive, none in neutral or park. Its a 1990 2wd V6 auto by the way. Posted here. Only 1 reply about a possible cracked flywheel or something.
Driving today, noticed hesitation in the shifting. But eventually it cought and off I went.
Leaving for home tonight, I heard a clunk, and my dak rolled to a stop. It was in drive but acted like it was in Neutral. tried all gears, Reverse, Drive, 1st, 2nd. All nothing. Only Park works and holds me in place. There appears to be some oil or liquid on the underside of my truck. Anyone, info PLEASE>>>
Thanks

Message: id have to say the trans is toast. more than likely if it wont go into any gear, then the clutches are burnt, a planetary may have let go or a band let go along with it. where is the fluid coming from? front of the bellhousing? probably so. its time for a rebuild.
