Message: I had to go and do it... I got some Goodyear Eagle #1's put on my truck. I got an awesome deal on them compared to what the dealer wanted. Ended up paying $400 installed, mounted, balanced, new valve stems, free lifetime rotations and road hazard warranty. The guys at the tire shop thought I was nutz for putting yellow lettered tires on a red truck, but once it was all said and done, one of the techs ordered a set for his truck! I love it. Email me and I'll send you some pics.

Message: I hate to be the person to ruin your fun, but the yellow is going to fade and look like crap. I have them on my Intrepid. They looked awesome for about 2 months and now they look not so good. And the reason you got a deal is because the stopped making them so they need to get rid of them. They are awesome looking though and the tread really lasts a long time. So enjoy them while they look good. And when they do fade, you can get replacements, just not in yellow. They are good tires just poor execution by Goodyear.
Sorry to ruin your day,
Dan

Message: Hey...don't throw something away just for LACK OF MAINTENANCE. I've got a 2001 Motorsports Dak with these tires. Use a little grease/wax remover from any body shop supplier, such as R&M 900 or Ditzler PPG 330. Put a little on a rag and rub each letter. Very easy to "bring back the yellow". I usually do this about every 2 months, after washing the truck, just before Armor-All'n the tires. For what it's worth, Diamler-Chrysler made 1026 Dodge Motorsports Intrepids and 1028 Dakotas. Most of the yellow-letter Eagle #1's were based on Eagle LS models.

Message:
The GoodYear EAGLE #1 tires are soft and have very thin sidewalls ....... you will be lucky to get 25,000 miles out of them.
Mine lasted 20,000 miles and the yellow lettering lasted one year.

Message: Oh well, I guess everyone has their opinion on these tires. From what everyone tells me, they are based off of the Eagle LS tires that came stock on my truck anyways, and I'll be more than happy to get the same 40,000 miles I got from the stock tires. As far as the yellow lettering, big deal. If it fades too bad, I'll take the tires back to the tire dealer and have him put the black walls out. He said he'd do it for free if I ever wanted it done. Otherwise, I like them as of right now. Thank you. The offer still stands if anyone wants to see how they look, just email me.

Message: The tires themselves are great, good quality and look awesome. But Goodyear was too cheap to run the yellow letters all the way into the tire. For example, the BF Goodrich Scorchers, the ones with the colored line all the way around the tread, the color itself runs all the way through the tire. Thats what Goodyear should have done with the yellow letters, the do it for the white letters. Maybe they will try them again, the really do look great.
Thanks
