Message: Darcy,
My homebrew air intake,
has NO Glue, Cement, or anything like that!
The fernco on my TB is pliable, firm rubber, clamps well to the TB, then it clamps to a piece of PVC, then another fernco fitting, then the filter. I've recently made an air damn, to only allow it to get cool air, no other, from the fender well hole, and from the rubber flap removed, but it damns off the engine heated air.
It's made from a insulated layered sign I bought at Home depot that said 'Open House'. My wife looked at me funny when I bought that one!

Message: Todd, yeah, that sounds like mine, excpet that I had to use a couple 90 degree elbows and a couple straight pieces... all of them slide into one another but are sealed tight with PVC cement... do you have pics of yours? You can kinda see mine in my profile pic... it's got a sealed and insulated heat shield on it now though and the whole intake tube is wrapped in reflective insulation. Doesn't look to great, but it sure keeps the air cold, after hard driving the TB is ice cold and the intake manifold is only slightly warm.

Message: Darcy,
is that all convoluted tubing??? I started to do mine in red before the weather got freezing cold and stayed there. So it looks kinda dumb now being half done, but I'll finish in the spring or when it gets warm. And your right, it is a pain to do!!!

Message: mpil1, yeah it's all convoluted tubing, definetly worth finishing the job once the weather warms up, you'll like it, red will look really cool with your paint color too.
Texas Todd, thanks, I'm at work to so I'll check it out when I get home.
