2001 I think it was introduced along with the
graphite, not sure though, could be 02

While I was shopping for my '02, the dealer told showed me some Daks that were Atlantic Blue. She said that the Atlantic Blue was new for '02. But she was a dealer and she was trying to see me a truck so take it for what it's worth. ;-)
