Subject: Power Lock Question... IP: Logged
Message: Can anyone suggest a brand of power door lock actuators that will fit in my 97' CC? I jsut took to to an alarm install shop and they said they couldn't find a place to mount the actuator. This sounds a little odd to me! Anybody have any suggestions?

Message: Why not run the factory electric actuators... They are about $75.00, but are a direct swap for your non-powered ones (it's a complete latch assembly).. you could easily add the wiring and switches yourself to make the entire thing work.

Message: I got mine off e-bay for $25... just the kit that includes the actuators, rods, etc. Then I used an old keyless entry receiver to add keyless entry (which was the purpose of adding the power lock kit). The kit I got off e-bay simply uses the manual lock things... push down on either side and both doors lock. It was a bit of a challenge to find the right place to mount the solenoids, but it is possible. About two-thirds down the door, right below the manual lock button rod and just inside the inner door skin.
