I have a 01 4.7 5speed, when the truck is in nuetral you can hear a noise like something is still spinning or running. It continues to happen when the truck is warm and goes away when you engage the clutch. Took it to the dealership last week and they said something is definitly wrong and replaced all of the bearings. When I got the truck back it sounded the same, the mechanic said it was normal noise and needed to be warmed up. I don't understand how when I took the truck in they knew it wasn't right and tore the tranny apart but now its a normal noise, doesn't make sense. I plan on finding a similar truck to see if it is typical but any suggestions would help.

Bearing type sounds relating to clutch engagement are usually, (but not always), related to the throw-out bearing. Funny, they SAID they replaced some bearings.
