Subject: Worn front end? IP: Logged
Message: I was under my Dakota today and noticed that the rubber that is samwiched between the upper and lower arms on my front suspension looked old and cracked. Does this mean that they need replacing? If anyone has replaced the parts I mentioned on the front end of a 93 4x4 Dakota w/318 and over 103,000 miles, please give me an idea of cost and how easy it is to replace these myself.

Message: The butyl rubber busching on a vechile often sart to crack and dry rot 3-5 years after they are built. The most important ones are the ones that isolate the suspension from the fram. I would not pay too much mind to the bumb stops. If you do decide to replace them try to replace them with high quality urathane buschings. They wil last for ever.
