Today afetr work I pulled up next to a Ford LOBO. It was a full size extra cab, short bed. The truck was lowered all the way around with a more than healthy exauhst sound. Of course I had to try him and of course he beat me. Does anyone know anything about this truck like what motor or trans it may have had?

Probably a regional "appearance package" that the guy had modified. I know that in Ft. Worth, they sold Dallas Cowboy version Fords.
Lobo is Wolf in Spanish. He probably had the Triton 5.4L V8, if not, he had the 4.6L V8 which means you got beat by a smaller engine so my theory is the 5.4L.

Andrew, a for lobo is the same as a ford F-150. Ford sells this version of the truck in Mexico and called it this way in order to make it appealing to the Mexican people. It is not a special package. The modifications were made at the expense of the truck owner.

I've seen quite a few around here. Lowered I'm guessing they coe that way, by the looks of the ABS plastic front end.
There so cute, but Did I really need to shift out of second gear to beat him?

Very funny. Extremes are quick (sort of) but against a Dodge Dak sport truck forget it. Probably didn't need to shift out of second unless it he was allready in 5th.

I've beaten the 5.4 4x4. I've seen one called a Lobo too. I've also seen a regular cab f-150 that said Navigator on the side. Didn't see the front, but the back had Navigator lights. anyone know about this? As for the Xtreme, I'm pretty sure its an appearance package, and may not even come with their bigger v-6.

A lie it is. Absolutely plain 4.3. The only thing it has are jazzy stickers and ground effects. More of a toy really. I never cared for all that jazzy glitz. Black 2wd factory height no chrome or jazz with 16 or 17" rims is hardcore and as bad a$$ as it gets. JMO of course.

The 2001 Lightnings have 385hp. A co-worker has one and it is bad a$$, built for speed. I got to drive it and it will move. I still like my Dakota better.

Very nice! I researched them and they sound like a car that is more for competition. Its a very nice looking car but doesnt seem like a work truck, which is what i need, but i am still considering it for my 3rd car!
I proudly own a 2000 koenig 360 modena, now there is a car that is "bad a$$"!

I think a LOBO is a "Left Over Burriro Option" or "Lets Order Better Options" or "Loser Ordered Butt Oxidation" . How about "Lowest Options Before Overpricing".
These must be close to what FORD intended LOBO to represent?

True, the LOBO is the mexican version of the F-150. But there are some other vehicles only available in Mexico, like new Ram Chargers. They're like full sized durangos. Also, they have new 4 door chevy LUV trucks. Remember those?
