Subject: The most horrible sound ever heard IP: Logged
Message: Earlier today at about 5 oclock I started hearing
this weird sort of lurching/growl sound when i put
on the breaks on my truck. Then it progressed to
not only that but when i was driving there was a
pinging, that loud sound, and it was seriously
horrifying. My truck is a 4.7 Auto and I bought
it used at 23K miles and now has 37K (over 36K
warranty, great luck for me). I have gotten the
oil changed regularly but have not taken it in for
anything else. I do have a kinda heavy foot too.
I dont know if any of that info could help you but
any info or advice I am greatful for. I am taking
it into the shop as soon as possible and Im not
going to drive it until I take it there. Sorry
for the long post. Hope you can help.

Message: There is a piece of metal on your brake pad that will ocntact the rotor just before all the pad is worn off. It's supposed to keep the rotor from getting trashed, but it makes a god-awful screetch.
