wants to know if he can put a 360 tb on it??

I am asuming the 318 is TBI then yes you can put the 360 TBI but if you put the 360 TBI on it YOU MUST CHANGE THE INJECTORS TO THE 318 INJECTORS other wise it will run rich. swap all the sensors off of the 318 tb andput them on the 360 tb. I did this to my 91dak and it impoved the throttle responsegreatly. Also make sure that all the ports and nipple are cleaned out. especially the pcv nipple in the back.

Sorry forgot to mention that the insulator plat will need to b for the 360 b/c the 318s is to small you should be able to get that from carquest they do have to different types one is cardboard the other is plastic.

I HAVE A SMALL SHOP HERE IN SOUTHERN JERSEY. THE OTHER DAY A WOMAN STOPPED BY AND SAID THAT HER 91 DAKOTA WAS HARD TO START. I GOT IN, TURNED THE KEY AND FOUND OUT THE STARTER WAS BAD. NO BIG DEAL I TOLD HER. I WOULD TAKE MAYBE AN HOUR AFTER I GOT THE PART. WAS THAT A JOKE!! THE THING HAD THE 318 WITH FWD. I PLAYED HELL GITTING THE BASTARD OUT. AFTER THAT I GOT LOOKING AROUND THE TRUCK AND REALIZED THE ENGINEER THAT DESIGNED THE P.O.S. WAS A MORON. THE GUY DIDN'T HAVE A CLUE.

If it's an '83 it should have a carb on it unless he swapped in a 318 and computer from an '87-91 D or B model. Swapping on 360 heads , intake and 2 barrel carb is worth about 30hp and 20 lb/tq over the stock 318 stuff.
