Some of you may remember my attempt to have some genuine carbon fiber hood emblems designed for aftermarket hoods. That unfortunately didn't happen due to production problems and an overwhelming work load for the company's Mustang emblems, which they specialize in.

So, I decided to start my quest for another alternative. Thus I cam across an ebay auction for a guy doing imitation carbon fiber emblems of all sorts, from Viper emblems to Chevrolet and Lexus, even sports teams. I e-mailed him about doing a custom Ram's head emblem and he was very interested.

As a result, Ron at Crazygrahics produced the following designs in the pics to follow.

These are made from carbon fiber "look" automotive grade vinyl with chrome vinyl laid over the top. An interesting touch is the *reflective* red vinyl used for the eyes. There are two designs available in the standard 3.5" high x 3" wide size, traditional and tribal. Both feature a hard clear epoxy to give them a domed appearence as well as an automotive grade adhesive backing. Ron also guarantees that the clear coating will not yellow. The prices are $15/ea. You can contact Ron at: ron@crazygraphics.com

He has also is willing to do custom emblems and such also with the clear domed surface. You will need to contact him directly for pricing.

For myself, I'll be installing the tribal emblem on my new AAR 'Cuda hood in a few weeks. :-) IMO, these look great and I have to give kudos to Ron for being such an easy person to work with.

Any questions feel free to ask. Goto this web address for pics or e-mail me at:

Is it possible to pop out the factory emblem, and put this in place of it? i think the chrome, or the carbon fiber would look good in place of the factory emblem, the chrome on my 97 is sorda craking a little

Yes, it is possible to do that. You'll need to be carefull though as it's recessed and has some pretty strong adhesive. I had these made to the exact measurements of the factory emblem.

No, they are much thinner. However, the clear expoxy coating gives them a domed surface that is hard but still flexible. The decal itself should be well protected.

Anybody got pics of them in place of the stock emblem? I would love to see one installed on the hood.
