Message: Chad. Do you happen to be in a cold area of the country? If so, I'd say it's frozen. Pretty common where I'm from. I don't use my emergency in the winter because of that.

Message: mine froze last winter so i also dont use it when its below freezing. i couldnt move foward but reverse was fine. i backed into my garage and used a propane heater to thaw the ice. i also heard that a hair dryer works fine too.

Message: after driving big iron for a few years ive gotten pretty handy with a lighter and a can of ether.
grab your propane torch ,leave it in park if its automatic or in reverse if its a manual, and crawel under the truck and start waving the torch around the components , dont leave it in one place to long the heat may weaken key components.
once you get it all dried out ,pull the wheels get the cables of and soakem in diesel,or auto trans fluid, this would be a good time to clean up the adjuster as well

Message: I know this post is old but i figured i would add a comment for anyone who happens to come across this post looking for info on why there brake cable is stuck:
CHRIS IS RETARDED!!!!! The emergency brake line is right next to the frame rail where fuel lines are running, not to mention the gas tank is on the same side of the truck as the emergency brake cable. Anyone who has this happen should not get out on the side of the rode with a fuking lighter and "wave" it around under there! That is the stupidist advice i have ever heard and i hope noone does this normally now after reading it. Someone or some people could get killed!

Message: LOL... What works on big iron (rig??) sin't neccessarily recomended for use on a pickup. Rig = diesel = non flammable unless under compression. Pickup = gasoline = well, uhhh... not good with open flame!
Cheers!
