 Subject: Tailgate Froze Please Help

I washed my truck and my tailgate was froze shut under my soft bed cover. SO i forced it open and now it shuts but wont latch. The latches are moving free and the handle moves freely, but it wont stay closed? Is somthing broke or just frozen on the inside?

Make sure there's no ice keeping the tailgate from closing all the way, it's possible the latches just can't be pushed far enough to catch.

I got the same probleme i change my 2 tail gate
latches, and I resolved the probleme...
The where not frozen the where broke the 2 of them
in the same time!!!

My tailgate did the same thing. I just left it open till it got a little warmer and it shut fine. I think water got in the workings and it wouldn't latch.

hey it started working fine when it thawed out.
I glad they werent broke like reddak98's, anyways thanks for the info guys
