Just bought a '97 5.2 4WD. Great truck so far; only two worryingsome problems.

Has a tilt-wheel, and you can feel a slight click in the wheel vertically. If you hold it at 3 and 9, there's no movement. Only slightly at 12 and 6. I pulled the airbag out and checked to see that it was tight, and it is.

Has anyone experienced a problem similar, and is it tilt-wheel related?

Also, there was a thread about seats not locking in place real well, but no one posted a fix...did that ever get resolved?

Great board...

Tom

I posted the seat problem and, no, it has never been resolved. I just don't move the seat. Which is a pain, cause that's the only way to access the rear cab area. I wish someone knew how to fix this!

The seat locking, are you talking about the seat back, or the slider on the bottom? My back will never lock, and there have been many times on taking off, that i am thrown into the back of the truck... IT REALLY PISSES ME OFF!!! I dont know what to do about it, but if it is all the way in the most vertical position it kinda grabs and stays a little, i try not to move it..

It's the seat back lock. I tried once to get the zipper open to have a look inside, but it's been somewhat cold here in NE, and I didn't try too hard.

When it's warm I'll look to see whether there's a worn sprocket or some other locking mechanism.

I have the same seat issues as Texas97. I don't know what the deal is with these seats. I thought I just had a bad set.
