I have a friend that knows someone that works at a car factory that is located near DCC. he told me that the 2005 dakota will look much like a nissan SE-R and it will have a twin-turbocharged 5.0 from the older mustangs. he said dodge bought the blueprints from ford. he also told me they will be factory equipped with bubb-rubb whistle tips. can anyone confirm this?

Really, have we become so campy that we can laugh only at others and not ourselves? Every one have a beer and mellow down 'cause you're bringing me over. It was a joke FFS.
Back to the 05 Dak. I hear it's going to be downsized to be more in line with the size of the S10 and other mini (useless) trucks. That would suck because I think the Dakota is the perfect size. I hope it's not true. The Durango gets bigger and the Dakota gets smaller? Don't make sense.
Which brings me to a funny story. One of my neighbors, aside from being the most annoying prick I know, owns an S10SS or something like that. Anyhow, the other day he came and asked me if he could borrow my truck to pick up some lumber and drywall at Home Depot. The 4x8 sheets wouldn't fit in his little lunch box. After a year of hearing this a-hole jaw about how bad Dodge trucks are and how great Chevy trucks are he had the balls to ask me that.
I smiled and told him to go f@#k himself.

Yeah, Chevy's making the bigger Colorado and the Canyon. And my cousin tells me that Ford is slowing making the Ranger bigger so that they can compete with the Dakota's. So why would they make the Dakota any smaller.

A friend who's a salesman for a Dodge dealer, says that the "Rumor of the day" is....(drumroll please)....DC will not do anything drastic to the present Dakota platform for the next couple of years.
He feels that they'll give the Dak's nose a slight facelift, consisting of restyled fenders, hood, heallight/marker light assy, front bumper, and facia.
They simply intend to give the Dak a RAM-styled front end.

I heard that they were going to beef up the V6 by increasing each cylinder's size, adding two cylinders, and releasing it as an R/T. Though it wouldn't be available with a manual. :)

has there been any concepts released yet of whay the newer dak will look like and when it will be released? also what has changed? I love my dak but I'd rather get rid of it before they change the sheet metal before the resale goes lower.

I went to a survey for new cars and saw the new dak ....It's not changing that much , it is squarish rather than round like our fenders are and the headlights are different , but overall it's staying close to what it is now . the interior I didn't like at all , plastic cheap looking , Maybe it was a econo model , but our interior is better in my opinion . Saw the new m80 , don't like the truck that much , but theres a 4 door with closed rear , like a suv , pretty nice , really liked that , the interior is awsome , really nice . Dodge is got some balls for producing these concept cars ....

i have a 97 sport dakota. the interior is really nice and roundish. why did they changed the newer year daks interior to more squarish? doesnt look as good imho
