I would like to put a small lift on my 2wd dak QC... Can the rear springs be placed on top of my axle easily? How far can the torsion bar go? Thanks. Yes i know i should have 4x4. but imma do with what i got now. Stock 2wd is too low when pulling a trailer.

it would be some fabrication to do a axle flip on your dakota. basically youll need to weld new spring pads on top of the axle housing. youre better off with doing a Add a leaf for stiffer rear speings. also you dont have torsion bars on a 2 wheel drive. you have coil springs. so you can do a front coil spring lift.
another thing you can do is add air bags in the rear so once you load up the trailer you can inflate the air bags to give you a level ride

sounds like too much work and costly just to get a higher ride.

if you have a 2wd i'm pretty sure you don't have torsion bars, you should have coil overs. but i've never looked at the 2wd's

I have a 2ed Dak, It has coils up front. I was looking into doing a lift but instead i went with the hotckis lowering kit. Ben, Fabtech sells lift kits for your dakota. You can go with the front 2inch lift or 3 inch lift and the rear add a leaf that will lift the back up. You can also install the over load springs they sell for it (can't remember who makes it).
