Message: OK.. when accelerating from a light (normal-not hot rodding) I get to about 30-40 MPH it revs slightly then shifts into 3rd or 4th or whatever damn gear it is. The RPMs go up about 500 then shift. It has only been doing this since it got realllllly cold in MI the last 2 weeks.
Is that bad?? Maybe low tranny fluid? any suggestions of what to look for??
4X4, Auto V6, 45,000 miles with powertrain xtend warranty only.
Thanks,
Bob

The cold weather will make it shift funny for a little bit. If it still does it after you drive a little bit and warm it all up then go see the dealer.

Message: warrenty replaced my tranny last year after it did the same thing. sorry to say its alredy to late the clutch packs are scored, it well get progressively worst .the symptom you describe isnt slipping its called flareing. as the tech descibed it to me in my tranny aleast for my year (2000) well drop all the oil in the pan when its parked over night. its worst in the winter cause the oil gets the consistancy of syrup, and the tranny has difficulty picking up the oil at first which is when you need it most .
if you read the dipstick it says to check fluid level in neutral. so every morning i go out set the park brake and let the engine/transmission warm in neutral, this circulates the oil to at least get some sucked up and around before i leave

Message: OH CRAP>>> Hope that is covered under the 'powetrain' warranty. (should be since it is the power train... hehe.. I have to laugh or I would cry...
Thanks for all the info guys!! on to call the dealer.. time to schedule a dr appt for my baby. She just got over a $1000 in new rubber and front end bearings/alignment etc... Maybe she is feeling neglected since Michigan Winters SUK and we can never wash the cars since it will freeze before the water can be dried off.

Message: I would like to let everyone know that if they have problems with thier trucks while under warranty and the dealer fails to fix it properly; after the third try you truck could be covered by the lemon laws. I learned the hard way. I made many trips to the dealer to fix a sloppy transmission shift problem while the truck was still under the factory warranty. I was never fixed properly. Now with 65K on the the truck, the sloppy shift has grown to 2nd gear complety gone - slips like hell.
The result - the dealer says it will cost $2500.00 to fix it! What the @#$%^$#! Stick to your guns if you have a problem which is covered under warranty! Call the Chrysler Care number and pinch a fit! Or else....
