Subject: 2003 Pricing IP: Logged
Message: Just wondering what all you Dakota gurus would consider a good price on the 2003 ext. cab Dakota 4x4 SLT Plus with these goodies:
4.7 V8, FT4WD, 3.92 w/ limited slip, 265-70/16 tires, block heater, Infinity stereo, 5 spd. auto, security system, overhead console, bed liner, tow package, HD service package, power heated mirrors, skid plate package, leather wrapped steering wheel, 4 wheel anti lock brakes, & body side mouldings.
I'm curious to what most of you could get this for in your respective areas.
Thanks for your input,
Greg

auto buying tips.com
carsdirect.com was real good for getting ballpark price, you can do better.
Economy and this time of year make for a great buyers market, search dealer web site inventories til you find what you want, buy truck where it is for best deal.(ordering and dealer locates offset your leverage a bit.Be prepared and tell them youll buy it right now,and be prepared to walk away.Remember their trucks arent flying off the lot(at least not where I am,boston ma area)YOU have them by the balls not the other way around! Good luck.

Message: It is worth spending the $12 or $15 dollars consumers guide charges to find out exactly what dealer costs and holdback etc. are included in the invoice price. They will also identify the specific incentives currently offered by the manufacturer. Dealers may or may not be willing to give up holdback. When I bought my 01, I used the Costco plan. They identify dealers who participate, and for Dodge, the cost was invoice less manufacturer incentive + $400. If you are a good negotiator you may be able to beat that, but if you do not want to hassle, it seems like a good way to go.

Message: I'm ordering a 2003 qc with everyting but leather, bed liner, 4 whl abs, and part time not full time 4wd and the best I've found is 25.6k. This is with 4.7 and 5spd auto. It's taken a lot of looking to get to this point and I have to drive 50 miles to the dealer and join the Tx Farm bureau for $40 for a $500 discount plus $300 off for my CDL. Jumpin' through those hoops. Good luck!

Message: Best quote i got ordering one was 25.5k another dealer was 26.1k(msrp 30160).Almost ordered one I would of offered 25.5k dealer 24.9k and got it.Came in with 23.7 for the one I bought they quoted 24.4k as their cost but still took 24.2k? Still think they would of taken 23.7, oh well I have a beautiful truck at a descent price.
Just get ready for ball joints that last ten secounds,a loud roar at cold starts,a tranny that bumps you when you stop, not too seemless shifts and god knows what else. Knew this going in but still love truck. Have fun!

Message: Sounds like I did semi-decent. Everyone here is right around the price I got mine at. List was 29,500, invoice was 27,200 got them to 26,900 with a set of splash guards with the ram logo thrown in (free installation, too). With the $2000 cash back & $400 college grad incentives that leaves me with $24,500.
Well, after not having a truck payment for the last 7 years, I guess it's something I'll have to get used to. :)
Thanks for all the input, I really appreciate it.
