Can any of you guys recomend a good Dodge dealer in the central Tx area? I'm not having much luck trying to get a deal ordering a truck from Austin dealers (Maxwell, Allen Samuels or Southpoint).

Hey Tom,, I live up in the G-town area too. Ya'll lowered my Graphite Dakota awhile back.
I don't ever remember seeing you in town... I mean it's not like it's a big town or anything.
Tom- do you know that tow-truck driver dude, who's got a black QC 4.7 w/'20's? (the guys pretty big white dude, shaved head - really cool) - He's supposed to be pushing like nearly 500HP pretty soon. Going to a shop down in San Antonio, that's going to turbo-it. Apparently they've cranked out like under a dozen or so 4.7's like that so far. You ever heard of them? (I think it's called "The Hot Rod Shop",,or something?)

Rockgod, I have had pretty good luck with Benny Boyd Dodge in Temple. This was my second purchase from them, and I always talk to the same salesman. Talking them down on the price of a new vehicle is pretty easy to do, it is the trade that is a little tougher (assuming you have one). Let me know if you want to visit with them. I will give you the name of my salesman. He is a pretty good guy. Not very pushy.

Thanks for the replies on the central tx dodge dealers. A former car salesman at the gym I go to in Austin suggests I fax a copy of the Austin Maxwell Dodge invoice (they actually gave me one in writing!) to other dealers near Austin. Maybe the old "drive a little...save a lot" cliche will actually work. Maxwell wants $500 more than they did on New Years eve when I was in there because the Holiday Cash incentive is over. It's tough fighting the urge to just order because of the 8 wk wait. Serenity now.

BENNYBOYD - they will smoke anyone's prices. Maxwell blows. I walked into Bennyboyd, and they beat Maxwell's haggled down price without me saying a single word to the salesman - first time. They rock!,,,but trading with them,,or anyone is difficult because of economy.
Tom - I'm having trouble finding that shop in S.A.'s site right now,,, but it's something like www.hotrodshop.com ,, or something,,and there's a link from there. They don't advertise it,,only thing you'll see is their Mustang projects. You have to call. If I find it I will post for everyone.
We need to have a really good Austin meet sometime!

We go crusing on Nolana in McAllen on the weekends. you should hang out with us, Im the only dakota there. ive seen a few R/T's around but i dont think there into racing and stuff like us....... anyways we should get together. I ordered a 2003 qc today @ Benny Boyd, Lampasas,Tx. You guys were right, they made me a great deal and threw in a bed extender. I think I even got a few hundred into the holdback. All on a handshake..no deposit! Only negative was I wanted the new timberline green and you couldn't get it on the sport plus, only the SLT. Bummer...had to go for my default color...bright white. Thanks for the help/advice and I will become a $$ member of this site soon.

2003, This should be awesome, I know it was last year, and i might enter... but i might not, i'm not sure yet. I hope there are more dakotas at this years, i was disappointed last year in the dakota department. Everyone on here should go. My brother is having a huge party at his house of dakota owners, I hope yall can make it. If you live in Texas and plan on going to texas heat wave show in austin texas on July 18 - 20, call my cell phone. (979)-229-3840.
