Subject: Intermittent Wipers IP: Logged
Message: Hello, I have a 2000 quad cab. Has anyone experienced problems with the wiper delay? I turn it on and the wipers make a single pass then wait a few seconds and make 2 or 3 passes (with no delay) then wait a few seconds and make a single pass. I've had the chip changed once already and that solved the problem for about 2 months. I love the truck but this is very annoying.

Message: WOW! Thanks for all the response. Don't know where mine was built but I'm in Canada. I can't believe a faulty wiper motor would cause the problem. I believe the module is causing the problem but what is causing the module to go? It could be over driven by the electrical system or just a poorly designed module but I'm just guessing. Typical dealer never gets to the root cause of the problem. They just throw new parts at the problem and hope it goes away. I guess we'll just have to hope Dodge can solve it and put out a solution to the dealers. I hope it's not treated like one of their silent recalls for the 4.7 engine. I got a copy of their internal bulletin and I was not impressed. I'll tell you more once I check my facts.

Message: Don't know about that but I had the same problem as the other posters with my 2000 when it was new, but it didn't do it all the time. Five star stealership claimed there were about 7 things that could cause this but refused to change anything since it didn't do it for them. Cleared up on its own after about 6 months, and hasn't been a problem since. Any of you techs know if if a likely culprit was ever determined to be the cause of this in case the problem comes back ?
