Subject: Blower Motor IP: Logged
Message: The coldest day of the year and I found my blower motor working in high speed only! Has anyone changed this part yet? If so, how hard is it? I know from experience that some cars/trucks can be quite a pain (had a 73 Trans Am, had to take the entire fender off!).

Message: I have read a lot of posts regarding the Blower motor Resister. It does seem that my problem looks familiar. Did any one experience the same problem with thier late model (2000,1,2...) dakotas? If anyone has a picture of the resister please reply with it. If anyone has repaired this, please let me know any info you might have - such as how hard, blower vs. wire harness vs. cleaning connectors etc...

Message: The resistor is easy and cheap. Less than 20 bucks. Its located on the passenger floor inside the ducting coming from the blower on my 2001. Its in the ducting so it will stay cool cause that thing gets really really hot. I found that out the hard way. Its held in there with two bolts and there is like a 6 or 7 pin connector (maybe more) plugged into it with some pretty hefty wires. Mine blew up in mexico and i didnt have a blower at all. So check it out and let me know if you need more specifics.
